BONIA opens its first boutique in Singapore, marking its first appearance in Southeast Asia.
BONIA expands its brand offerings with the launch of Carlo Rino, a contemporary brand featuring young, trendy and chic leather goods and footwear.
BONIA opens its first boutique in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
BONIA invests in branding campaigns, from print ads to TV commercials, centred around Italian culture and scenery, fuelling the brand’s Italian inspiration and positioning BONIA as a pioneer in branding and a market leader in Malaysia.
BONIA enters department stores in Indonesia, Hong Kong, Brunei and Taiwan. This was a period of pushing boundaries for the brands, due to an aggressive regional expansion campaign and strategic product expansion.
BONIA continues to diversify, expanding its product range to include watches and eyewear.
BONIA lists on the second board of Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) in Malaysia on the 23rd of August 1994.
Sembonia joins the Bonia Group, offering an extensive range of versatile designs with exquisite quality and the authenticity of a designer’s taste and style.
The BONIA Monogram print is launched. The Monogram was inspired by the lifestyle of European aristocracy dating back to the 19th Century, where personalising possessions with monograms was a mark of distinction and status.
BONIA enters the Thai market.
BONIA is transferred to the main board of Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) in Malaysia on 23rd of April 2007.
BONIA appoints Singaporean Mediacorp artistes Joanne Peh and Michelle Chia as its first Brand Ambassadors.
A 2,800 sq feet flagship store is opened at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, marking the brand’s 20th boutique in Malaysia. To mark the occasion, the grand opening was attended by socialites and celebrities such as Ning Baizura, Nadia Chan Chung Ling, Kevin Cheng Kah Wing and Tavia Yeung Yi from Hong Kong, and Joanne Peh and Michelle Chia from Singapore.
The Group acquires a 70% equity stake in Jeco (Pte) Ltd, officially co-owning the German heritage brand, BRAUN BÜFFEL.
BONIA appoints Taiwanese model and actress Sonia Sui as its Brand Ambassador. Inspired by her style and appeal, BONIA created the brand’s signature bag, the Sonia.
BONIA appoints Singaporean actor Romeo Tan and actress Carrie Wong as their Brand Ambassadors.
With a brand-new look and feel, BONIA rebrands itself as a luxury lifestyle brand with the launches of lifestyle and tableware collections. The brand also collaborates with Malaysian actress Scha Alyahya for the limited-edition BONIA x SCHA Collection.
Bonia launches its new KLCC flagship store with an unprecedented museum and gallery concept, reflecting the brand’s identity which meshes heritage with immersive experiences.
